Review - Devil May Care by Cynthia Rayne

Captain, the president of the Four Horsemen MC, has been in love with Eddie Rollins since he first set eyes on her. Unfortunately, she was already married to Joker, a man who didn't deserve her. So, Captain forced himself to move on. But the torch he carries for Eddie still burns hot. Now, that both of them are finally single, he is determined to make her his old lady.

Eddie is the reigning Queen Bee of the club and makes the finest moonshine in all of Texas. So fine, in fact, it has been cutting into the Beauregard's bootlegging business. When the bootleggers come after her, Captain vows to keep her safe. But he can't protect her from discovering the ugly truth about her late husband. And about him.

Club Commandments

Failure to follow any of these commandments can (and probably will) result in an ass whuppin’ and/or being kicked out of the club. Learn it. Love it. Live it.

1. Must own and be able to ride a bike.

2. Must be voted in unanimously.

3. Must do anything a member tells them to do.

4. Must do anything an old lady tells them to do after verification by said old ladies' old man. OR anything Eddie tells them to do. Because Shepherd said so!

5. Must abide by all club rules that members must abide by.

6. May not sell drugs or engage in any illegal activity while wearing their colors. Because prospects are stupid and prone to getting caught.

7. No getting caught.

8. No talking to cops. For any reason.

9. Responsible for watching all bikes when members are at club functions, in bars or other shady places.

10. Only the VP can take your colors.

11. Must listen to the PIC – Prospect in Charge. The PIC will announce to other prospects when VP is in the vicinity. The PIC will make sure all prospects show up on time to meetings and club rides, get other prospects in formation, keep all prospects informed of VP's orders, will relay other club member's orders to prospects as required.

1. Respect is to be shown to all brothers and brothers' old ladies.

2. Don't wash your colors; but colors should be kept in good repair and respectful state.

3. You are responsible for your old ladies. If an old lady outlives her old man, she is responsible to the president.

4. Don’t fuck around with other dudes' old ladies. Not all old ladies have a tat, a ring, a necklace, or a patch, so ask before touching!

5. Only other members or an old lady can babysit your colors.

6. No wearing your colors in a car. Except for weddings or funerals. Or loading and unloading a bike from a truck. You must wear your colors when riding a bike.

7. Colors on back; patches on front. No hippy shit.

8. Colors must be worn to meetings.

9. No member will disgrace the club.

10. No fighting each other with weapons. There will be no fighting at meetings. The only punches that get thrown will be by the Sgt. At Arms, for fucking up the order of business.

11. No throwing non-approved combustibles in the Hellfire Pit. We all remember the 4th of July incident. And we made each other a promise. Keep it.

12. There will be a Demon Sweep before the Prez or VP enter a new bar or establishment.

13. If it's not yours, don't mess with it.

12. If you make a mess, clean it up. (Or get a prospect to do it.)

13. Brothers: Never call a member of another club 'brother'. He's not.

14. The club will always stay together on rides, runs, parties, etc. And will not associate with rival clubs. The only way a brother will be permitted to leave the main group will be to notify the president or whoever's in charge. When the time comes that the majority feels it is time to leave, we will all leave together. Anyway, staying behind at his own risk can expect no help.

15. Honor the brotherhood by always be willing to help a brother out.

Devil May Care (Four Horsemen MC #4) by Cynthia Rayne

I was kind of disappointed with this book. It's a little slower than the others in the series and therefore I didn't enjoy it as much. It took me longer to read it and I gave up.

Usually, once I put a book down that's it but I just couldn't completely give up and write it off as a miss. So I picked it back up and unfortunately I struggled to just didn't do it for me.

I really can't put my finger on one thing, I just couldn't get into it. I don't think it was the older woman/younger man, or the lame reason Eddie used for not hooking up with Captain, or the Beauregard situation. Maybe it was simply the pace of the book. Who knows??? Anyway, you can't please everyone all the time. This won't deter me from continuing with the series. NEXT!!!

Review - Ricochet by Keri Lake

The only sure way to destroy a man is to take what he cannot live without.

Three years ago, I had everything.

A beautiful wife.
A son.
A reason for living.

Until a ruthless task force, assembled under Mayor Michael Culling, with a brutal strategy to make the streets of Detroit ‘safe’, ripped away everything I loved in a deadly hunt called The Culling.

They tried to kill me, too. I wish they had. Now I'm cursed by the memories of that night, and the words I whispered to my dying wife.

A promise—to avenge the wrong and set it right.

I’m no longer Nick Ryder. I’m a masked vigilante. Faceless. Loveless. Fearless. A man with nothing left to lose—one who's seen the dark and violent truth behind the city’s flawless veneer.

Michael Culling doesn’t know who I am. Or what I want. All he knows is that I’ve kidnapped his beautiful wife.

An eye for an eye—isn’t that how the saying goes? And Aubree Culling is the perfect pawn to destroy him.

If she doesn’t destroy me first.

WARNING: **Not recommended for readers under the age of 18 due to graphic violence, sex and strong language. Trigger warning for self harm.

Ricochet by Keri Lake
Murder Death Kill

It's Dark. It's Violent. It's FULL of Twists and Turns, and of course there has got to be romance. Crazy combination but it works! I LOVED this book. You will feel for both lead characters and PRAY that BOTH come out of this hellish twist of fate nightmare intact and unscaved.

I cant  won't give away the good stuff in this book, this is something you NEED to read. If you are looking for a book with a Real (but still fictional) Story, a Hot Damaged Alpha (that's a little nuts-o) hero/anti-hero out for revenge, that's paired with an equally damaged and trapped heroine in need of  saving. This is for you.

THANK THE HEAVENS Aubree is NOT the whiny heifer that would totally grate your nerves and drop her panties instantanously, you know the ones. Aubree is the perfect match for Nick........ and you WILL FEEL THEIR PAIN.

"Apart, we were nothing more than two broken halves, but together, our jarred edges fit perfectly, sealed into something whole again."

This is a dark and delious thriller that will have you on the edge of your seat.......and spewing expletives at the author, if she doesn't give them a HEA.......there will be a price to pay. Nothing is missing from this book, a definite MUST READ!!

Badass In My Bed by Rae Lynn Blaise

Title: Badass In My Bed #1
Author: Rae Lynn Blaise
Publication Date: June 23, 2015

My life is music. I play it, I live it, I breathe it. Next week, I start my dream job playing cello with the Boston Symphony. My father might finally be proud of me, and I… well, I’ll have my music.

Then I met Dylan—tattooed, badass, always-hard Dylan. He’s nothing like anyone I’ve ever been with before. Just one night can’t hurt me.

But sometimes when you play with fire, you get burned.

I sneak another peek and bingo! I finally see his face.
God, his face…
Now that I see it, I’m not sure I can ever look away. It’s striking. Stunning. Strangely beautiful.
His eyes are inset, his jaw and nose strong. And his mouth—perfect, his lips full but not girly. They’re sin and sex, yet, as he smirks at something on his phone, also quite boyish. It’s the kind of mouth I could stare at for hours, watching the way it shapes words and slides into smiles. The kind of mouth that feels good to kiss and better to suck and my, oh, my, I bet he sucks down there so right I wouldn’t need to grab a vibrator after.
Where the hell did that come from? I’m not a prude, but having dirty thoughts about men in bars is really not my style.
It’s a sign of stress, that’s all. In my mind, Beautiful Tattooed Boy is the personification of chance encounters and not having a plan. It’s the other road—the road I didn’t take. Correction—wouldn’t take. He’s nice to look at, but other than that, we’d probably clash. Big time. I’m only attracted to him because, although I’m happy with my choices and my plans, I can’t help being curious about what else might have been.
Yeah. That’s totally it.
But what if I’m more than curious?

Review - Mine by Marie York

The only thing Nixon Bennett ever excelled at is fighting. No one ever understood him, especially his parents and sister.

Then Brooklyn Davis walks into his gym, and his world shifts.

Brooklyn is just like him in so many ways, and yet so fragile in others.

Can she fix this broken boy even though she's broken herself?

Mine (Imperfect Chaos #1) by Marie York

WTH!!!! WAIT!!! WHAT??!!

Cocky, self-absorbed Nixon aka "Viper", cage fighter by night and personal trainer by day is truly something else. Plenty of eye rolling was done while reading this. He has this love/hate personality.
"I didn't run after girls. They came to me".

Whatever!! But of course here comes Brooklyn, the one and only girl he wants but can't have. They both have issues, that's a given but hers is more serious. Just as the book was getting interesting, the author drop kicked me in the gut and left me hanging. Just like my review.

What?? Is this .......THE END........NO IT'S A FREAKING CLIFFHANGER........WTF!!!

Cara hated herself. Absolutely, positively loathed herself. Why was she unable to keep perspective around Hunter? Why couldn't she comprehend he wasn't her boyfriend−current or future−fiancĂ©, husband, or any other form of commitment? She kept sucking herself back into a false relationship. While at the Murphy home, she'd been treated as if she was Hunter's partner. And she'd lost sight of reality. While the women spent all evening joking around with one another, they talked about their husbands. Smith was included in that mix along with Cara. She bought it hook-line-and-sinker. Watching Courtney with her in-laws and her husband and the entire family dynamic that the close-knit group exhibited made her long to become a part of their world. Until she looked into Hunter's eyes. She was a fool.
As they road silently back to Hunter's home, Cara decided it was time to take control of her own life. Trapped for too long as prisoner by everyone else, she was done.
"I need to know what's going on with the debt my mom owes." She broke the thick, silent tension in the enclosed space. "I need to visit my mother and see if I can get the information from her. It's past time I get out of your house, Hunter, and move on."
They pulled down his street without Hunter responding. When he parked the car in the garage, Cara jumped out and rushed into the house and up to her bedroom without looking back. She didn't want to talk to Hunter. She just wanted this entire mess over with. She wanted to start a new life. At the age of twenty-eight, she wanted to finally start living her life.
A soft knock on the door was her only warning before it opened. Smith stepped inside the room, his hands shoved into his perfectly tailored suit.
"Why the hell are you always dressed for a business meeting?" she groused, her frustration and anger spilling over.
He blinked, shocked.
"Don't you own a pair of jeans? Khakis? A fucking T-shirt?" She jumped off the bed. "Always so pristine and crisp. Always so contained. Well, except when you don't want your space invaded, right? Tell me, Hunter, is there anything not ironed and hanging immaculately in your closet?"
She pushed past him and stormed into his room. Fucking Hunter and his inability to look a mess. Never a hair out of place, not a day with stubble, teeth always brushed.
Cara tossed opened his closet door and sure enough, suits upon suits, all hung in a perfect row as if a department store employee had racked his wardrobe. She yanked one of the dark suits out of the closet and tore it off the hanger and tossed it across the room.
"Oh look, your jacket's on the floor. Might want to pick that up before it wrinkles." She grabbed another one and ripped the pants off and tossed them randomly over her shoulder. "Messy, messy suits. Everything's a mess. Can't have that." She opened the drawer at the bottom of the wardrobe. The top drawer, filled with black socks all matched, ended up across the room.
Fury fueled her. Her blood boiled in her veins. She hated Smith and his refined stature. Always poised, always calm. No emotion. Nothing.
"Cara, stop it," Hunter warned.
She ignored him, her mind a red haze of hatred. Anger consumed her. Anger for all she was going through. For all she'd been through. Irate that no one fought for her, that she couldn't fight for herself. Furious at her mother, at Hunter, at Mr. Murphy. Hatred that there was absolutely nothing she could do to gain even a nibble at life. She was a victim and prisoner of everyone around her.
Cara continued her assault on Hunter's clothes. It felt good to rip apart the suits and drawers, tossing everything around the room. It gave her some form of control over him. He couldn't stop her. He couldn't control her anger. No one could. Stupid designer suits. Stupid comforting bedroom. Stupid Smith.
Suddenly a strong pair of arms grabbed her by the shoulders and spun her.
